Grodno. Shereshevsky House.

In the city of Grodno, on Karl Marx Street (house number 25), which was previously called Kupecheskaya, the Shereshevsky House was erected. The monument was built at the very intersection of K. Marx and Molodezhnaya streets. The building has the status of historical and cultural value.

The house was built during the Russian Empire in 1885 in the eclectic style. The monument has an interesting feature in its decoration - on the pediment from Molodezhnaya Street there is a date marked "1885".

Previously, many buildings had such markings, but rare cases have survived to our time. Moreover, the date of 1885 is of great importance for the city of Grodno - this year there was a significant fire when many city blocks burned down. After this tragedy, massive urban construction began. And stone houses were already being built on the site of many wooden former buildings. The building is stone, two-storied. Plastered. The front facade has a decor that is mainly concentrated on the second floor. Part of the decor was lost during the renovation.

At first, after the fire, Shloma was the owner of the building. The premises housed the apartment of Bakinovsky's private attorney in 1903. Shloma Sonkin's store was open. The store sold firewood for heating houses.

The Optika store and other facilities are currently operating here.
