Grodno. Makarov's house.

In the city of Grodno, on the ancient Karl Marx Street (№ 23), which was formerly called Kupecheskaya, there is an architectural monument known as the Makarov House. The building is located near the intersection of Molodezhnaya Street and K. Marx Street.

The building was built during the Russian Empire in 1909. During this period, Kupecheskaya Street was home to mostly private mansions, houses of worship, and shops.

The house is stone, two-storied and plastered. The front facade has decorative decorations. The authentic decor has almost completely survived to our time.

In the central part there is an authentic cast-iron balcony supporting three consoles. The building is built in an eclectic style.

In 1921, peace was signed between Soviet Russia and the Polish state in Riga, and Grodno was under the rule of the Polish Republic until 1939. During the period of the Polish state in 1928, the Jozef Rudajce store was located in the house.

There is now a women's clothing store in this building. The house is adjacent to the old buildings No. 21 and No. 25, which also have the status of historical and cultural value.
