Grodno. The Bartnovsky House.
In the city of Grodno, on Karl Marx Street (house number 22), there is an architectural monument, the Bartnovsky House. The building was erected during the Russian Empire in 1870 in the eclectic style on the site of two 17th-century wooden houses belonging to the Catholic monastery of Brigitok. According to other sources, the monument was built between 1870-1885.
At first, the house was two-storied. Sometime in 1889, the building was completely renovated. In 1903, the building housed the apartment of Yablonsky, who served as a bailiff at the town assembly.
At the beginning of the 20th century, in 1910-1915, the property belonged to M. Bartnovsky. The building was a two-story stone building with an attic. There was also a stone and two-story wing attached to the house. In 1915, there was an apartment for Linke, who was a private attorney.
After the Peace of Riga in 1921, Grodno passed to the Polish state until 1939. During this period, in 1928, the documents mention the new owner of the house, Asya Dvoretskaya. The building houses Leiba Zalishansky's store and Kazimir Chuchel's hairdresser.
After the Great Patriotic War, the building was significantly rebuilt - the attic was rebuilt for the third floor.
In recent years, the monument has been undergoing restoration.
