Beshenkovichi. Church of the Holy Prophet Elijah.

In the center of Beshenkovichi there is an Orthodox church from the 19th century. The first Orthodox church here was built in the 15th century by order of the Polish king. Queen Elizabeth, the wife of King Casimir IV, almost drowned on St. Elijah's Day while swimming. In honor of the queen's rescue, it was ordered to build six Orthodox churches in honor of the Holy Prophet Elijah. And one such church was built in Beshenkovichi.

The brick church was built in 1870 on the site of a previous wooden church. The temple was built thanks to the efforts of Archpriest Joseph Nikanovich. The state treasury provided funds for the construction of the church. During the war, the building was badly damaged. In recent years, the church has been restored. The adjacent territory is well-maintained. The temple is active.

The church was built according to a standard design. Similar churches exist in Belarus in Khotsimsk, Brest and other cities. The building is central, cross-domed. It consists of three main parts: a vestibule, a prayer hall and an apse. Above the main volume is an octagonal light drum.

There is a parking lot not far from the church. Next to the temple there is a road leading down to the Western Dvina River.
