Description
In 1876, a temple made of brick and rubble stone was erected on the site of an old wooden church in the village of Kabishche. The architectural appearance of this temple is designed in the traditions of the retrospective Russian style.
Today, the Holy Ascension Church in Kabishche is not only a place of worship, but also a significant object that preserves and transmits the traditions and history of the region.

Holy Ascension Church in the village of Kabishche.
The first mention of a wooden church on this site dates back to 1700. It belonged to the Diocese of Polotsk and by 1868 had more than a thousand parishioners.
In 1876, the wooden structure was replaced by a brick church in the retrospective Russian style. The building was topped by a dome and a small dome above a single-tiered bell tower. The church had 12 windows and three entrances. The heating was carried out using a tiled stove. Later, a wooden chapel was built nearby on brick pillars.
During the Great Patriotic War, the church was severely damaged, and later it was used as a warehouse for fertilizers.
In the 1990s, the temple was restored thanks to the efforts of local organizations and residents. And since then he has been receiving parishioners again.
Today, this church, made in the shape of a cross in the retrospective Russian style, is a small and cozy building located on the outskirts of the village, on a hill next to the cemetery. It is surrounded by greenery of trees, creating an atmosphere of comfort and tranquility.…
