The Volodkovich estate in Ivansk is not just ruins, it is a symbol of a lost heritage.

The history of the Volodkovich estate begins at the end of the 18th century, when Tadeusz Volodkovich acquired these lands. Initially, a one-story mansion was built on this site, which was an elongated rectangle with high basements and porticos on the facade. This house served as the residence of the Volodkovich family for almost a century, until at the end of the 19th century it was decided to carry out a grand renovation.

The appearance of the new two-storey mansion has become a landmark event. It was massive and devoid of a certain style, but the interior space resembled a monastery. In this new house, the Volodkovichi kept priceless collections, which became the real pride of the estate. There were oak cabinets with rare books and family archives in the halls. The rooms were filled with silver trays with coats of arms, the thinnest baskets, gilded candlesticks and precious swords. Unfortunately, this true treasure trove disappeared without a trace after the revolution.

The magnificent landscape park with alleys, flower beds, gazebos and greenhouses was a real decoration of the estate. There was an artificial pond with a chapel and a racetrack where trotters were trained. However, today the park is gradually overgrown, and the outbuilding where the servants once lived is being destroyed.

Walking through these places, one can't help but feel a touch of the past. You can't help but imagine how his owners used to live in such a house. Unfortunately, many architectural monuments are disappearing into oblivion, taking with them the particles of our history. This manor has the same fate.

The Volodkovich estate in Ivansk is not just ruins, it is a symbol of a lost heritage and a reminder of the rich culture that once flourished on these lands.
