The Church of St. St. John the Baptist is an architectural monument with neo-Baroque elements.

The construction of the temple dates back to 1884-1891, and the stone chapel, standing alone, appeared even earlier – in 1871. This Catholic cathedral, an architectural monument of the middle of the XIX century, demonstrates the features of pseudo-Baroque.

A rectangular building without towers, but with a round apse, two sacristy and a vestibule. The building has a cruciform shape in the plan. The territory of the church is surrounded by a plastered fence with a two-tiered bell tower (on the left) and an arched gate in the center.

The exterior of the complex impresses with natural stone wall decoration. The natural texture of the stone is not hidden under the plaster, but rather serves as an ornament. The mortar of the masonry is complemented by mosaic inserts of small rocks that create patterns.

The red gable roof is in harmony with the red brick decorative elements: the entrance gate and the upper part of the chapel tower. The facades are decorated with tall windows, reminiscent of the windows of temples of the Northern Renaissance. The corners and the space between the windows are highlighted with contrasting lines, giving the building an exquisite graphics, complemented by stained glass windows and wrought iron elements.

The interior corresponds to the traditional canons of layout and decoration adopted for Catholic worship services. Carved gilded ornaments, sculptures, five wooden altars and an organ create a special atmosphere. Artfully painted icons of saints are placed on the walls and altars. In one of the altars there is a rare icon "The Mother of God with a Baby" (1667) in a silver frame. The interior of the temple is rich, but it gives the impression of elegance and sophistication.

This temple has always been active. Even the era of militant atheism could not interrupt its functioning. The devotion of the parishioners and the high authority of the clergy have always protected the church.

The Church of St. John the Baptist is a true decoration of the region, which must be seen in order to appreciate its unique beauty.
