A monument of architecture of the Neo-Romanesque style of 1899-1907.
The history of the Prozoroki Church dates back to 1698. Then, at the end of the 17th century, a wooden church and monastery of monks of the Order of Francis of Aziz were built here. Unfortunately, at the beginning of the 18th century, the temple burned down.
In 1721, the church was rebuilt. After 70 years, it was destroyed by fire again.
The construction of the stone church began in 1899. It lasted 8 years. In October 1907, the Prozoroki Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was illuminated.
During the Soviet years, the temple was used by the state, and a collective farm granary was located within its walls. The interior of the church was almost completely destroyed.
The church was returned to the faithful in 1989, restoration was carried out, and after that divine services resumed in it.
Behind the Church of the Ascension of the Virgin Mary is the grave of the founder of the Belarusian national professional theater Ignat Buinitsky (1861-1917).
In general, today it is a beautiful old church with its own history. The territory of the temple is beautiful and well-maintained, there is a swing, a garden. It is a very atmospheric and beautiful place. Here you can feel peace and quiet while taking a leisurely stroll.
I recommend it for a visit!
