The Church of the Holy Martyr Paraskeva Pyatnitsa in the village of Chernevichi is a vivid example of the retrospective Russian style in architecture.

The history of this place goes back to the 16th century, when, according to archival documents, the church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker stood here. Later, in the 19th century, it was replaced by the wooden church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which deteriorated over time.

The construction of the stone church of Paraskeva Pyatnitsa lasted from 1879 to 1887. The temple was designed by the provincial architect Polozov.

Today it is an active temple belonging to the Glubokoe deanery and is an architectural monument included in the list of historical and cultural heritage of the III category. In front of the temple there is a stone gate topped with a wooden tent roof.

The majestic three–tiered bell tower with a hipped roof, bulbous domes and a keel-like pediment above the entrance - all this creates a unique appearance of the temple.

The architectural appearance of the temple reflects the features of the retrospective Russian style, such as the keeled pediment above the main entrance and bulbous domes. The temple complex also includes the main volume, the babinets and the apse.

This temple has become an important part of the architectural appearance of the Chernevichi and operates here to this day.
