St. Michael's Church
The main attraction of Novoselki is the wooden St. Michael's Church, consecrated in honor of Archangel Michael. This saint is revered not only in Christianity, but also in Judaism and Islam. In the Orthodox tradition, he is called the Archangel, which means "the head of the holy host of Angels and Archangels." Archangel Michael is considered a protector from evil, the patron saint of warriors, as well as the guardian of the souls of the dead and the sleeping. St. Michael's Church was built according to the traditional wooden architecture scheme: a bell-tower vestibule, a main rectangular log cabin and a five-walled apse. Its composition is dominated by bulbous domes mounted above the tent bell tower and the main volume.
