Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior

Since ancient times, there has been an Orthodox church in Logishin, first mentioned in 1576. In the XVIII century, there was already a wooden Transfiguration Church, the exact date of construction of which is unknown. In its place, in 1795, a new wooden Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior was erected, which eventually deteriorated, and in 1842 the next one was built. However, this wooden church burned down. The current stone church was built in 1892 and is located in the center of the village, next to the Catholic church of Peter and Paul. The Transfiguration Church in Logishin has a four-part composition, including a bell tower, refectory, main volume and apse. The two-tiered bell tower ends with a tent with a bulbous dome, and the four-pitched roof of the main volume is decorated with a five-domed roof. The white color of the building emphasizes the simplicity of the architectural forms characteristic of this temple.

In 1963, the Transfiguration Church was officially closed, but the building was preserved and worship services were occasionally held in it. The temple began functioning again in 1993 after the collapse of the USSR. Regular worship services resumed after the consecration of the church on November 16, 1993.

The architecture of the Transfiguration Church is made in the Russian style, which is characterized by majestic elements and rich decor. The main architectural features of the church are:

  • High domes decorated with golden stars, which gives the building a solemn and sublime appearance.
  • Massive stone walls, giving the impression of strength and durability.
  • The ornate interiors, including frescoes, mosaics and numerous icons, create an atmosphere of tranquility and reverence.

The interior of the church is distinguished by exquisite paintings and decorative elements reflecting the religious and cultural traditions of the region.

Currently, the Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior continues to fulfill its role as the spiritual and cultural center of Logishin. Divine services are regularly held in the church, attracting believers from different parts of the country. In addition to religious events, various cultural events such as festivals, concerts and exhibitions are often organized around the church, which contributes to strengthening social unity.

The church is also an important object of tourist interest. Its architectural features and rich history attract many visitors who want to touch the cultural heritage of the region.

The Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior in Logishin is a unique architectural and historical monument embodying the spiritual wealth and cultural traditions of the region. Its majestic architecture and significant role in the life of the local community make it an important object of study and preservation for future generations.
