Description

The regional Museum of Local Lore is located in the very center of Korelichi. The institution started working during the Soviet era.
Today, there are about eight thousand storage units. The museum has numerous unique exhibits, for example, archaeological finds, a coin hoard of John Casimir 93 coins, a leaflet of the Communist Party of Western Belarus from 1934, a coin from the time of King Stanislav August Poniatowski, clothes of participants of the Great Patriotic War and much more.
Big part of the exposition is occupied by materials dedicated to the Great Patriotic War and the genocide of the Belarusian people.

Korelichi. Regional Museum of Local Lore.

The regional Museum of Local lore is located in the very center of the district center of Korelichi on Sovetskaya Street. In 1969, it was decided to create a museum, which at first was called the regional Museum of National Glory.


The exposition was opened in 1974 and the museum began work on the 30th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders. To date, the main fund of the museum has about eight thousand items of storage. The exhibition area is about 160 square meters. The main collections of the museum are numismatics, photographs, and written monuments. Physical monuments and monuments of art.


The museum houses numerous unique exhibits, for example, the John Casimir 93 coin hoard, a 1934 leaflet of the Communist Party of Western Belarus, the Order of Lenin, formerly owned by P. Zheleznyakovich, a coin from the time of King Stanislav August Poniatowski, clothes of participants of the Great Patriotic War and much more.


The museum's exposition is located in seven halls and consists of the following sections:

  • the edge from primitive times to the 18th century;
  • household calendar rituals of Belarusians;
  • agriculture of the region in the 20th century;
  • Our illustrious fellow countrymen;
  • The Great Patriotic War on the territory of the district;
  • the nature of the region.


Numerous finds from archaeological excavations are on display, and it tells about prominent figures who were born or lived in the Korelichsky district. These are famous historians and writers, public figures: Jan Chechot, Ignaty Domeyko, Yanka Bryl, Olga Ipatova and many others.
