Description
Korelichi, once the estate of Lithuanian princes, is now an urban settlement in the Grodno region. The village may seem modest compared to the neighboring towns, but its atmosphere and rich heritage leave vivid impressions. Korelichi is ideal for a day trip from Minsk to Novogrudok.
The Church of the Mother of God in Korelichi is one of the important attractions. It was built in 1938. The architectural style of the church is neoclassicism.

Korelichi. The Church of the Mother of God.
The first mentions of the Korelichi in written sources date back to 1395. Initially, the place belonged to the Czartoryski princes, who sold their possessions to the Radziwills in the 17th century.
Under the Radziwills, the Korelichi were in their heyday. Michal Radziwill 'Rybonka' founded a large weaving manufactory here, producing carpets and belts, many of which decorated Nesvizh Castle. In 1705, the Russian tsar Peter I stayed in Korelichi.
To this day, the Radziwill estate has not been preserved, but tourists can see the remains of outbuildings and fragments of an ancient park.
But the Church of the Mother of God, built in 1938, is still pleasing to the eye. Little is known about its history, but it remains one of the oldest temples in Korelichi.
The church went through difficult times after the Second World War. After the Second World War, the temple was closed, but it has been preserved to this day.
In the early 1990s, the church was returned to the faithful, and in 1992, after renovation work, the church resumed its life.
At the moment, the church is in excellent condition and continues to work for its intended purpose. Despite its modest size, the temple attracts attention with its neoclassical elements, including a pediment with four columns.
