Description
Look at the photo! What huge and ancient things are hiding in the forest! These are giant conglomerate boulders that formed here 15,000 years ago after the glacier disappeared. They are located near the village of Bolshye Tupoly.
Autumn is the perfect time for such a walk. Golden forest, fresh air and the feeling of encountering something pristine. The boulders resemble the ruins of an ancient castle. The perfect place to arrange a photo shoot, breathe in the silence and marvel at the power of nature.

Smolchitsky Giants: 15,000 years underfoot and a complete reboot in the forest
When you see these huge buildings with your own eyes, your first thought is: "Is this really not man-made?". But no, nature is the most talented sculptor, it just needs a little more time than we do.
It is said that the Smolchitsky conglomerates were formed in the forest near the village of Bolshye Tupoly as a result of the collapse of a glacier as much as 15,000 years ago. Just think about this figure! These stone giants have been lying here for fifteen millennia. They remember things that no history book has ever found. These are not just stones, they are quartzite and sandstone fused into a single monolith, which time has turned into bizarre rocks scattered in the middle of an ordinary Belarusian forest.
Why is autumn the perfect time to go out?
Autumn is a great reason to go on such a forest walk. Of course, it's beautiful here in summer, but right now nature gives us that "delicious" light that makes photos with boulders simply magical. Golden foliage, absence of mosquitoes and cool air, invigorating better than any coffee - this is the recipe for the perfect weekend.
The road here is already a separate type of therapy. The village of Bolshye Tupoly is located away from major highways, so you will definitely disconnect your phone from work chats and breathe in the clean air. It takes a short walk from the village to the conglomerates themselves. And that's where the fun begins: you're walking along an ordinary forest path, surrounded by the usual pines and firs, and suddenly these huge boulders begin to appear in the midst of this green (and now golden) sea.
They look like the ruins of an ancient castle or giant boulders scattered by giants. In some places, the boulders reach several meters in height. You can climb on them (with caution!), arrange a small photo shoot, or just sit on a warm stone, close your eyes and listen to the silence. There's a lot of it.
What you need to know before traveling:
1. Shoes. Where nature is cool, it is not always convenient for a person. Running shoes with good tread or trekking boots are your best friend. There may be roots, moss, and slippery rocks underfoot.
2. Time. Arrive early to build up your appetite. Speaking of appetite, take a thermos of tea and sandwiches with you. A picnic set against the backdrop of 15 thousand years of history is a special kind of gastronomic pleasure.
3. Navigation. The place is popular with tourists, but it is remote. Download the map of the area to the navigator in advance, so as not to get lost on forest roads in search.
4. Attitude. Don't expect a civilization with cafes and toilets here. It's a wild, real forest. Take wet wipes and a trash bag with you - let's keep this place clean for the next adventurers.
In general, if you are tired of the hustle and bustle of the city, if you want to be surprised and feel like a small grain of sand in time and nature, you are definitely here. Smolchitsky conglomerates are the case when Belarus opens up from a completely unexpected, "fabulous" side. Get in the car, take your loved ones and go for a portion of admiration!
