Description
Samotevichi is the birthplace of the Belarusian poet Arkady Kuleshov. Due to the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, the village was evicted, now it is a real "ghost village". The ruins of the Holy Trinity Church, which are quite well preserved, are especially impressive here.

The ruins of a church in a village that no longer exists on the map.
The Church of the Holy Trinity, built in Samotevichi in 1835, was one of the largest churches of its time. But now its ruins stand in an empty village that no longer exists on the map.
Samotevichi has been an important settlement since 1585, and in 1914 the Belarusian poet Arkady Kuleshov was born here.
Despite the prosperity, tragic events such as World War II and radiation after the Chernobyl disaster erased an entire village from the map: after the evacuation in 1986, only a dozen residents remained in Samotevichi, and the temple, damaged by time and fire, now only reminds of its former greatness.
The fact that a church with such a size and history still stands is exciting and asks questions about the past of these places. A special atmosphere is given by the absence of people, respectively, and the absence of unnecessary sounds. A ringing silence is created here, and only the sounds of nature occasionally break it and distract from the thoughts that come to mind.
There is a dilapidated bridge over the river, as well as some residential buildings, but they are in disrepair and will not last long, unlike the church.
There is no better place for stalkers and lovers of abandonment. The main thing is to take care of safety and it is advisable to find out about the possibility of getting there from the local government. It's worth it!
