Plotnitsa. Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos.

An ancient wooden Orthodox Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos was built in the Stolin district in the village of Plotnitsa. The place has been known since the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1503. In the 16th and 18th centuries, the town was part of the Brest voivodeship of Pinsk region.

The Church of the Holy Intercession was built back in the era of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1781. According to some sources, the temple was originally built as a Uniate church and only during the time of the Russian Empire passed to the Orthodox believers.

In the 1870s, the church was rebuilt after a severe fire. In the 19th century, the church had a two-tiered iconostasis with 26 icons. The church's archive has had metric books since 1819. The bell tower had four bells: 1, 3, 6 and ten poods each. Seven cemeteries and eight nearby villages were assigned to the church. There were about three thousand parishioners. There were two servants at the temple: the psalmist and the rector. Since 1878, Ivan Shemyatilo and the psalmist Lukian Verzhbalovich have served as priests at the temple. The church received income of 100 rubles each. The church had land and premises.

The church consists of four main parts: the vestibule, the refectory, the prayer hall and the apse. The main volume is decorated with 5 onion domes on octagonal reels. A two-tiered bell tower was built near the temple. The church has been renovated.
