Description
In Bykhov, near Secondary School No. 1, there is a monument to the young partisan hero Marat Kozlov. The white stone sculpture, created by sculptor Nikolai Polyakov, was erected in 1965. On the pedestal of the monument you can see the inscription: "Pioneer Hero Marat Kozlov".

Bykhov. Monument to Marat Kozlov.
In 1965, in Bykhov, near Secondary School No. 1, a monument to the pioneer hero and partisan Marat Kozlov was erected.
Marat Kozlov was born in 1930 in the village of Vetrenko, Belarus. At the age of 11, he became a partisan, helping his unit collect weapons and ammunition, as well as carry out reconnaissance missions. In June 1942, while on reconnaissance, Marat was captured by the Nazis, brutally tortured, and killed.
Schoolchildren hold ceremonial events at the monument, and students from the school in the agro-town of Smolitsa take care of the young hero's grave, which is located in the rural cemetery of the villages of Vetrenk and Ukhlyast. Marat Kozlov is a symbol of courage and bravery, who died in the fight against fascism.
