Bykhov. The building of the men's gymnasium.

At the end of the 19th century, a men's gymnasium was built in the very center of Bykhov. In Soviet times, School No. 1 operated here, and then an orphanage. Many famous figures, known far beyond the borders of our country, studied in this building.: These are the artist Pavel Izmailovich Khaykin, born in the village of Nikanovichi, Bykhovsky district; Air Marshal Stepan Akimovich Krasovsky, a native of the village of Glukhi, Bykhovsky district; Hero of the Soviet Union, one of the leaders of the partisan movement in Belarus Kirill Trofimovich Orlovsky, a native of the village of Myshkavichi, modern Kirovsky district.

Now the Bykhov Regional Museum of Local Lore is located in the building. The museum was originally located in a different building, and the modern museum opened in April 2016.

The museum has 6 halls.

The first hall is dedicated to archeology and the nature of Bykhov region.

The second hall tells about Bykhov as a fortress city.

The third hall is dedicated to ethnography.

The fourth one tells about Bykhov district during the revolution.

And the fifth one is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War.

Since 2010, the museum has been hosting local history readings.
