Description
Mstislavl is a small Belarusian town. But several Orthodox and several Catholic churches have survived here. On the outskirts of the historical center stands the Church of the Holy Cross, which was built in the 19th century. In recent years, the church was restored and named in honor of the icon of Mother of God of Tupichevskaya.

Mstislavl. Church of the Holy Cross.
In the 19th century, during the construction of the church, the Kiev tract passed here - now it is Lenin Street. And the church was not in the center of the city of Mstislavl, but it was Kazimirov Sloboda, a suburb of Mstislavl. Once upon a time, there was a wooden Uniat church in this place, which was located in the very center of Kazimirov Sloboda.
The brick church of the Holy Cross was built in 1871 in retrospect-Russian style. The temple is made in canonical four-part composition. First, the vestibule - bell tower was built, then the refectory, prayer hall and apse. And the vertical dominant is the two-tier bell tower above the vestibule itself. And earlier, when there was still a separate town here, the Church of the Holy Cross was the architectural dominant of the entire neighborhood.
In recent years, a new fence was erected near the church, repairs were carried out and it was consecrated in honor of the miraculous icon of Our Lady of Tupichevskaya. Once there was a Tupichevsky monastery with four Orthodox churches not far from. Unfortunately, the monastery has not been preserved
