Mstislavl. The building of the Noble Assembly and the Paris Hotel.

You will really like the small district town of Mstislavl for its provinciality, tranquility and historical monuments. There are objects for lovers of antiquity for every taste: archeology, architecture and natural monuments. If you walk through the historical center, you will definitely see a three-story red brick building near the former Jesuit church, on which hangs a sign with the loud name "Paris". This is the building of the former entrance Noble Assembly and the Paris Hotel.

During the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Mstislavl was the center of the principality and voivodeship. And during the period of the Russian Empire, the city became the center of the district and turned into a small provincial town. And, perhaps, this three-storey building was at that time the largest of the residential buildings in the city. Local burghers, officials, nobles and gentry – all the Bohemians of the Mstislavsky district at that time - gathered in the premises of the Noble Assembly. And the guests of the city stayed at the Paris Hotel, which was located on the top floor. There were other hotels in Mstislavl with the same pretentious names, but these buildings have not been preserved.

The building is brick, three storeys high. It is built in an eclectic style. It is now used for residential apartments. It is located on Proletarskaya Street, which at the time of the Principality of Lithuania was called Onufrievskaya, and at the time of the Russian Empire – Smolenskaya Street.
