Mstislavl. Trinity Church
During a walk through ancient Mstislavl, you will see several Catholic and Orthodox churches. Not all religious buildings of the city have survived many years of wars and years of wicked Soviet rule. In recent years, the Orthodox Church of the Trinity has emerged from nothingness. Holy – the Trinity Church is located opposite the city park and was built on a former shopping area. The church was built of brick in 1834 and was badly damaged during a fire in 1858. The temple was later restored and given features of the empire style of architecture. And for a certain time it was the largest Orthodox church of Mstislavl before the construction of Alexander - Nevsky Cathedral. After the revolution, the church was closed and there were various institutions here: an archive, a museum of local history and an educational building of the construction college. By 2016, the church was restored.
