Mosty. Mostovsky State Museum"Forest and man".
There is a museum called "Forest and Man" in the district town of Mosty, Grodno region. The museum was established in Soviet times in 1985 and was first called the Mostovsky State Museum of Local Lore. After some time since 1989, the educational institution began to be called the Mostovsky State Museum of Forest and Man.
The exhibition was opened to visitors in 1990. A modern building was allocated for the museum. The fund has about seven thousand exhibits and documents. The exhibition area is more than 300 square meters.
The museum currently has ten collections: numismatics, weapons, household items, documents and photographs, weaving, sculpture and painting, an archaeological collection, icons, stuffed animals and birds, phonographs.
There are a number of unique items, for example, an ancient fishing device, a coin hoard from 1623, which was found in Mosty, newspapers and posters from the Great Patriotic War. Among the ethnographic rarities, a copy of the Mosty system is very valuable. A significant part of the exposition is occupied by exhibits and materials dedicated to the events of the Great Patriotic War.
