The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Kovali is not just an architectural monument, but a living testimony to history.

Originally built by the Carmelite monks, the Assumption Church was part of their monastery. However, in the 19th century, the monastery was abolished and the Assumption Church became the responsibility of the Orthodox community. This led to the reconstruction, as a result of which the appearance of the temple was enriched with elements of folk architecture, Baroque and retrospective-Russian style, creating a unique architectural ensemble.

Archival documents from the second half of the 18th century mention the Kovali parish as a Uniate parish under the care of the Berezvechsky Basil monks. Interestingly, the Carmelite monks also provided significant support for the celebration of major holidays, which indicates the close ties between different faiths at that time. After the liquidation of the church union, the temple was handed over to the Orthodox clergy, marking a new stage in its history.

The bell tower, which has been preserved to this day, deserves special attention. It towers over the surrounding area, reminding of the rich past of this place and serving as a landmark for travelers.

Today, the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Kovali is not just an architectural monument, but a living testimony to history, a place where you can feel the spirit of bygone eras, feel their mysterious atmosphere and feel the connection of times.

Visiting this temple is a real journey through time that will not leave anyone indifferent.
