The alley of famous countrymen in Glubokoe is a symbol of pride in their countrymen, who have left a bright mark in the history of Belarus and the world.

The alley of famous countrymen in Glubokoe was founded in 2012 during the celebration of the Day of Belarusian Writing. At that time, the first eight bronze busts were installed on the site of the dismantled monument to Lenin. Subsequently, the collection was expanded, perpetuating all new names.

You will not find such a memorial complex dedicated specifically to local natives in any other city in Belarus!

Each bust is accompanied by a laconic plaque telling about the merits of the person. But behind the dry lines of biographies there are amazing stories.

Here you will meet the gaze of Joseph Korsak, the governor and philanthropist of the 17th century, thanks to whom Glubokoe decorated five temples, two of which are still the hallmark of the city. It was he who generously sponsored the construction of the church and the church, which today form a unique architectural ensemble of the central square.

Nearby is a bust of Vaclav Lastovsky, an outstanding politician, writer, historian and the first prime minister of the Belarusian People's Republic. He made an invaluable contribution to the Belarusian culture and national identity. It was thanks to his efforts that the national shrine of Euphrosyne of Polotsk returned to Belarus.

The alley preserves the memory of the brilliant artist Yazep Drozdovich, whose works are highly valued at world auctions today. A self-taught man with three grades of education, he became not only a talented painter, but also an ethnographer, folklorist, and collector of the Belarusian language. There is a children's art school in Glubokoe named after him.

It is impossible not to recall Ignat Buynitsky, the founder of the Belarusian National Theater. He was the first to bring folk dances and songs to the stage, making them available to the general public. His theater toured throughout Belarus and beyond, awakening national consciousness.

Eliezer Ben Yehuda, a native of Glubokoe district, who dedicated his life to the revival of Hebrew, is immortalized here. He created the first Hebrew weekly and began work on a complete dictionary of the language. Streets in Jerusalem and other Israeli cities bear his name.

Among the heroes of the Alley is Pavel Sukhoi, a Soviet aircraft designer, the creator of the famous "Sushka". It was in Glubokoe that he was born and spent the first years of his life. In memory of him, a monument aircraft was installed at the entrance to the city.

The names of Pyotr Kozlov, Hero of the Soviet Union, Ales Dubrovich, poet and participant of the liberation movement in Western Belarus, and Yuri Sobolevsky, founder of the Belarusian school of geotechnics, who contributed to the construction of the Minsk metro, rest here.

The alley of famous countrymen in Glubokoe is not just a place of remembrance. It is a symbol of pride in their fellow countrymen, who have left a vivid mark in the history of Belarus and the world. This is a unique monument that inspires new achievements and reminds of the importance of preserving cultural heritage.
