St. Elijah's Church in Komaisk is a living history of wooden architecture.

Despite the fact that the exact date of construction of the original church is unknown, it is believed that it was built in the XVIII century. The existing building was built in 1809 thanks to the generous foundation of Jan and Teresa Mackiewicz. This fact confirms that the temple on this site existed long before the beginning of the 19th century.

The church in Komaisk has always been attached, and priests from neighboring Dokshits conducted divine services there. In 1963, during the anti-religious campaign, the temple was officially closed, but its spiritual value was not forgotten.

In 1989, a long-awaited event took place: the church of St. Elijah was re-consecrated, returning to its parishioners. In 1993, reconstruction was carried out, which made it possible to preserve the unique appearance of the temple and prevent its further destruction.

The architecture of the church is characterized by conciseness and simplicity, which is typical for folk architecture. The main and altar log cabins are almost square in plan, have the same height and are covered with a common gable roof. The end part of the roof of the main western facade is decorated with a truncated trapezoidal pediment and is completed with a four-pointed tower. A tent-like tower rises above the altar, similar to the main one.

The temple has three entrances, above each of which are tall rectangular windows. The architecture of the church harmoniously combines traditional carpentry techniques and elements of classicism.

The beauty of St. Elijah's Church lies in its modesty and simplicity, which emphasize the spiritual significance of this historical place.

The Komaisk temple is not just an architectural monument, it is a living history, a symbol of faith and spirituality passed down from generation to generation. It is a valuable testimony to the skill of Belarusian architects and recalls the rich cultural heritage of the people.

Visiting St. Elijah's Church in Komaisk is an opportunity to touch the history, feel the atmosphere of peace and enjoy the beauty of the Belarusian nature.
