Zhodino. The Museum of Local Lore.

The Local History Museum of Zhodino is located in the historical center of the city, in a building previously designated for the Council of Deputies. This building, which has preserved the features of the Soviet era of the 50s of the XX century, is of architectural value in itself. Museum visitors will also be able to appreciate the city square adjacent to the museum.

On the ground floor there is a section "Nature of our region". After climbing the stairs, visitors enter the gallery, which consists of several exhibitions and museum halls.

The museum has a rich collection of exhibits telling about the glorious historical heritage of the region. The objects related to the time of the Second World War are especially touching, since each of them is not just a thing, but a fragment of a person's life, an echo of tragic years.

The central place in the exposition dedicated to the military era is occupied by the remains of the Soviet Pe-2 bomber.

In addition to the permanent exhibition "The History of Zhodino from ancient times to 1941," the museum offers other temporary exhibitions. 

Creative evenings, exhibitions of young artists, photo exhibitions, presentations and conferences are held in the lobby of the second floor.

As part of the museum events, "Evenings in museum" is held monthly, including meetings with interesting people, famous residents of Zhodino.

Video lectures "The Beginning of the Great Patriotic War, "Zhodino during the War" are offered for organized groups, covering the history of the city during the Second World War, the theme of the underground and the partisan movement, as well as stories about the heroes of the Zhodino land.

In addition, exhibitions of professional artists are organized monthly in the city exhibition hall, and exhibitions of works by non–professional authors are organized in the small hall.
