Description
The memorial complex in the city of Zhodino, Minsk region, is made of bronze and granite in honor of the patriotic mother Kupriyanova Anastasia Fominichna. Its height is four meters. The six-figure composition of the monument is simple and at the same time original - a bronze figure of the mother on a two-step pedestal, symbolizing a porch, sees off five figures of her sons, made of red polished granite, to war. The image of the youngest son - Peter - is expressed in a lyrical way. He stopped to turn around and cast a farewell glance at his mother, who froze in an emotional silence - who knows if they will be able to see each other again!
All five of Anastasia's sons went to war to defend the Motherland. The youngest son Peter was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. He heroically died on November 2, 1944, covering the embrasure of an enemy pillbox with his chest.

Zhodino. Monument in honor of the Soviet patriotic mother.
The monument in honor of the Soviet patriotic mother in Zhodino is a sculptural composition of six figures on a small pedestal. One of the figures stands alone — the figure of the mother who sends her sons to war. The height of the monument is 4 meters, the figures are made of bronze and granite. The prototype was the Soviet patriotic mother Anastasia Fominichna Kupriyanova, who sent all five of her sons to war. The monument was unveiled on August 29, 1975. The monument is under state protection, it is included in the State List of Cultural Values of the Republic of Belarus. The monument is a symbol of the feat of Soviet women during the difficult years of the Great Patriotic War.
Before starting work, the artists met with Anastasia Fominichna Kupriyanova and introduced the city's public to the monument project. At the very beginning of the work, it was necessary to change the location of the complex - to move it from the city center to the road, since this location was more in line with the authors' idea. The work was difficult, since the creation of such a large composition was already difficult in itself: each figure had to be made separately (its size was two human heights). The bronze figures were cast in Leningrad in the artistic casting workshop "Monumentskulptura".
Many guests from different parts of Belarus and the USSR came to the grand opening ceremony of the monument. There were city residents, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, honored people of the BSSR, Heroes of the Soviet Union V.E. Lobanok, M.B. Osipova and others, Heroes of Socialist Labor, government officials, the Minister of Culture of the BSSR Yuri Mikhnevich, and the heroine of the celebration Anastasia Fominichna Kupriyanova herself, who was already 103 years old. During these days, the International Women's Meeting was taking place in Minsk, many of its participants were present at the opening, among whom were representatives of the countries of the Soviet Union, Europe, South America and others. The honorable right to open the monument was granted to the Chairperson of the Committee of Soviet Women, Soviet pilot-cosmonaut, the first woman to visit space, Hero of the Soviet Union Valentina Tereshkova.
The authors of the monument are sculptors Andrey Zaspitsky, Ivan Misko, Nikolay Ryzhenkov, architect Oleg Trofimchuk, and the head of the creative team V.A. Lagunovsky. For the originality and highly artistic execution of the composition, the creative team of authors was awarded the USSR State Prize in 1977.
A museum was founded in the house where the family of Anastasia Fominichna Kupriyanova lived – the only museum in Belarus dedicated to the mother.
