Description

The Nesvizh Museum of Local Lore is located in the city of Nesvizh on the central Leninskaya Street. The museum started operating in 1995. The main exposition of the museum is located in 5 permanent halls and 2 exhibition halls. The museum has a collection of the artist Mikhail Sevruk (1905-1979). The exhibition features unique exhibits: a silver "Thaler Cup" from the 18th century, a book from the 16th - 17th century. There are 2 craft workshops at the museum.

Nesvizh. The Museum of Local Lore.

If you visit an excursion to the ancient city of Nesvizh, then the Radziwill Magnate's palace and park will take all your attention and leisure. Very often, guests and tourists do not have enough time for the local museum of local lore.


        The museum is located on central Leninskaya Street in an old red brick building of original architecture. The decision to open the museum was made in 1989. The museum opened its doors in 1995. Since 2005, the museum has been called the state institution "Nesvizh Museum of Local Lore".


        The museum's exposition is located in five permanent halls and two exhibition halls: "Trade and craft of Nesvizh region", "Preserving identity", "Nesvizh. Pages of legends and history", "War. Tragedy. Feat", "Saved values". The museum has 18 collections and has more than 14 thousand pieces of documents and historical artifacts. Significant collections in the funds are "books and printed publications", "paintings and graphics", "photographic documents", "tableware".


         There is also a collection of the artist, graphic artist and engraver Mikhail Sevruk (1905 - 1979). There is an apartment-museum of the artist in the center of Nesvizh on Sadovaya Street.

M. Sevruk worked and was friends with many famous Belarusian figures: poet Maxim Tank, artists Joseph Drozdovich and Peter Sergievich, composer Grigory Shirma.


       The museum has many unique museum exhibits, for example, the "Thaler Cup" made of silver from the 18th century, the liturgical book from the 16th – 17th century from the Bernardine Monastery of Nesvizh.


       There are also craft workshops at the museum, such as a blacksmith shop and a pottery workshop.
