Zhodino. House-museum of A. F. Kupriyanova.
The oldest museum in the city of Zhodino opened in 1980 in the house where Honorary Citizen of the city Anastasia Fominichna Kupriyanova spent the last years of her life, having seen off her five sons to war during the Great Patriotic War.
This is the only memorial museum in Belarus dedicated to a mother as a historical figure. The museum exposition tells about a family, using which as an example we can talk about the nationwide resistance of Belarusians during the Great Patriotic War, about the life of the people during the fascist occupation, about the courage and heroism of soldiers, partisans, messengers and about the maternal feat of our women. Here you can learn about the biography and feat of Pyotr Kupriyanov, who covered the embrasure of a fascist pillbox with his body during the battles in Latvia, the biography of his mother Anastasia Kupriyanova, who lost all her sons during the war. Visitors have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the past, feel the mother's grief and the glorious memory of the immortal feat.
The museum exposition tells about the life of the partisan family of Anastasia Fominichna. Being a partisan of the Razgrom brigade, during a combat mission, son Mikhail was seriously wounded, captured by the Nazis, taken to Borisov prison, where he died of his wounds on February 5, 1944. A fighter of the partisan detachment Rodina of the Razgrom brigade, son Vladimir in December 1943 was sent to a prisoner of war camp, returned home only in 1947, and died in an accident in the winter of 1949. The middle son Stepan died during the liberation of Belarus. In February 1945, the eldest son Nikolai went missing. But more about the youngest son of Anastasia Fominichna - Hero of the Soviet Union Pyotr Ivanovich Kupriyanov. The materials collected make it possible to better understand what kind of person he was, how he walked his path to immortality. At the age of 17, he became a liaison officer, then a scout of the Razgrom partisan brigade. After the liberation of Belarus, he volunteered for the front. As a scout of the 3rd motorized rifle battalion of the 53rd motorized rifle Red Banner Order of Suvorov brigade, Pyotr Ivanovich died on November 2, 1944 in Latvia, repeating the feat of Alexander Matrosov.
