The Church of St. George in Tumilovichi is a monument of wooden architecture, built in 1864.
The Church of St. George, located in the village of Tumilovichi and built in 1864, continues the tradition of wooden architecture typical of the region. Its architectural design is based on eight facets, which gives it a special expressiveness and harmony. An apse and a babynets are attached to this main volume, which creates a complete and balanced appearance of the building. The most notable architectural element is a light drum topped with an onion dome.
In general, the temple building has a rather simple and even ascetic appearance. The only decoration is the profiled lishtvan decorating the window openings.
The architectural ensemble also includes a frame-type bell tower, which was built later.
St. George's Church not only serves as a place for worship, but is also an important cultural and historical site reflecting the traditions and customs of the local population. Its architectural features and historical significance make it an important part of the region's heritage.
In 2024, the temple turned 160 years old! He was able to withstand wars and other unfavorable historical events and today pleases parishioners and tourists with his existence.
