Porplishche. Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior.
In 1627, an unusual wooden church in the Baroque style was built in the Dokshytskyi district in the town of Porplishche, the founders of which were Anna and Frantzisk Zebrzydowska. The church was rebuilt in 1794 with elements of classicism. And in 1883, a 3-tiered belfry tower was added to the main facade, where there was a belfry in the lower tier, and the belfry was covered with a low 4-tiered tent. And the result was a cross-domed temple, which in plan is a Latin cross. The log houses in the temple are covered with 2 sloping roofs. And above the central cross of the church was installed an 8-sided light drum, which is completed by a faceted dome. In the interior, the drum of the dome rests on elastic arches with sails. The iconostasis and wooden altar of the 17th century have been preserved in the interior. The iconostasis is made in the technique of low relief: with bouquets of flowers and fruits, images of plants, heads of angels and the use of female figures. The columns and frames of the ark are also decorated with carvings. The walls in the church are horizontally paneled. At the end of the 1980s, major repairs were carried out. The church is active and is a monument of architecture of the wooden construction of republican significance.
