The Church of the Virgin Mary the Queen is a monument of wooden architecture, distinguished by its unique style.
The Church of the Virgin Mary the Queen, located in the village of Porplishche, was built during the interwar period, from 1937 to 1941. This wooden structure was erected directly opposite the older Transfiguration church, which appeared in the village much earlier. The church is an architectural monument of wooden architecture and stands out for its unique style.
The church survived the Second World War and the difficult years of church persecution, despite attempts by the Soviet authorities to demolish it. Today, this small wooden temple attracts the attention of both locals and tourists. It is one of the main attractions of the village.
Although the church and the church in Porplishche were built in different architectural styles, in their structures one can see common features that arose under the influence of the local architectural school. First of all, these are the same window openings and the similar appearance of the belfry towers. In front of the entrance to the territory there is an interesting one-arched frame made of small stone.
After the Great Patriotic War, the church was converted into a school and workshops.
In 1990, it was returned to catholics, which became an important event for the local community and contributed to the revival of spiritual life in the village.
