Oshmyany. Regional Museum of History and Local Lore.

The Oshmyany Regional Museum named after František Bogushevich is located in the very center of Oshmyany on Sovetskaya Street. The museum has a long history - it was founded 70 years ago. The institution operates in a beautiful old building on a former market square. Nearby, across the road, is the Church of Archangel Michael and the Orthodox Resurrection Church. Right behind the museum is a 19th-century synagogue, which is currently being restored and is a branch of the museum.

The museum exposition presents various historical artifacts that tell us about the history of the Ashmyany region and our country – the Republic of Belarus. The museum exhibits archaeological finds, the numismatic collection includes coins from the times of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth of the 16th-18th centuries. A significant part of the museum is occupied by products of folk craftsmen: towels, ceramics, folk costumes. There is a large collection of photographs and maps. You will see a modern reconstruction of the historical center of Ashmyany with the designation of old streets and buildings. The museum has an art gallery, created thanks to the president of the International Association "Art of the Peoples of the World", who donated 431 works of art to the museum in 2010.

The Oshmyany Museum is named after the classic of Belarusian literature Frantishek Bogushevich, who was born in the Oshmyany region. The museum exhibits the writer's personal belongings.

The museum also has a branch in the 17th century Golshany Castle, which opened its doors to visitors several years ago after restoration.
