This is a unique and one-of-a-kind place with the rarest exhibits and educational expositions for everyone who enjoys skateboarding.
Currently, the Minsk Skateboarding Museum has over 850 exhibits, including 500 skateboards. All the items in the collection are unique, original and divided into seven thematic sections.:
- "Great Milestones" is dedicated to the history of skateboarding development in the world.
- SovSkateProm – includes skateboards and accessories made in the USSR
- "Achieving the impossible" – demonstrates homemade skateboards and accessories
- "Brazilian Corner" tells about the history of skateboarding in Brazil.
- "European Corner" – presents the history of the development of European skateboarding.
- "Belarus Corner" is dedicated to the history of Belarusian skateboarding.
- "Skateboarding as art" – presents art objects created from skateboards.
The main part of the collection covers the period from the late 1970s to the early 1990s. This is the time from the first mentions of skateboards in the Soviet press and the beginning of the production of roller boards in the USSR to the collapse of the Soviet Union and the end of the era of "Soviet skateboarding".
In general, the collection covers the period from the mid-1950s to the end of the 2000s.
An excellent addition to the exhibition are various posters, pennants and souvenirs specially made for skateboarding competitions in the USSR.
An important part of the Skateboarding Museum is the extensive photo and video archives provided by "Soviet skaters" from different cities of the USSR, demonstrating various aspects of the life of skaters: reports on competitions, street skateboarding, lifestyle and much more.
