Kamenets. St. Simeon's Church.

The architectural dominant in the city of Kamenets is the 13th-century Kamenets Tower and the Orthodox Church of St. Simeon. The temple is located in the center of the town on the hill itself, and it can be seen from all corners of the city.

The church was built in 1912-1914 from brick in the pseudo-Russian style. The new church was built on the place where the old wooden church of the 18th – 19th century was.

The Church of St. Simeon has four canonical parts in Orthodox construction, which is elongated along the west-east axis and an apse on the east side. First there is the narthex, then the refectory, the main volume of the prayer hall and the pentagonal apse. A three-tiered eight-on-four bell tower rises above the narthex. The tower is completed by an octagonal high tent.

The prayer hall has a cuboid volume, which is mounted on a high plinth, and at the very top there is a cylindrical light drum, which is crowned with a large onion dome. At the corners of the main volume there are four smaller drums with bulbs. And it turned out to be a five-domed temple.

The main entrance is decorated with an arched portal, above which colored murals are made. According to its architecture and plastic processing, the techniques of 17th-century Moscow architecture were used in the construction of the church. The interior has 3 naves with a light drum rising above them. There is an iconostasis and icons of the 19th century.
