Nikolaevo. Paraskeva Pyatnitsa Church.
To the west of 4 kilometers from the district town Kamenets is the village of Nikolaevo. Not far from the road in the middle of the village, the five-domed Orthodox church of St. Paraskeva Pyatnitsa was built on a hill. In some other sources, the church is named after St. Nicholas.
During the time of the Russian Empire in the 19th century, Nikolaevo was part of the Brest region of the Grodno province. In 1900, a wooden church was built in Nikolaevo along Shkolnaya Street. The temple was built in a pseudo-Russian style. It consists of four main parts: the vestibule, the refectory, the main volume of the prayer hall and the apse. A three-tiered bell tower is built above the vestibule: two eights above a four. A porch with a canopy and a pediment is attached to the vestibule, where the main entrance is supported by two wooden pillars.
The prayer hall is a rectangular log cabin, which is completed with five onion domes. The architecture of the temple stands out for its rich decor. The interior features a two-tiered iconostasis with a carved gilded royal gate. There are six oval icons on the gate. The church is the architectural dominant of the village and is visible from all sides of the village.
The building has been renovated in recent years. The church is active.
