Vitebsk. Botanical Garden of the Vitebsk State University.

Vitebsk Botanical Garden is a scientific and educational unit of Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov.

Currently, its structure includes a department of ornamental and floral herbs, a department of woody plants (arboretum), a department of tropical and subtropical plants (greenhouse and greenhouse), an exhibition area, a training and experimental area, a plant taxonomy area, a nursery, a seed laboratory and a herbarium.

The collections of the botanical garden, which covers an area of 3.2 hectares, contain more than 2,600 species, forms, varieties and varieties of plants.

The department of woody plants covers 1.9 hectares and includes 380 species belonging to 100 genera from 42 families. It consists of the remains of an arboretum, divided according to geographical principle, and a landscape park.

The department of ornamental and floral herbs is located on 9 plots (0.54 ha) and includes 1509 species and varieties from 475 genera. The department of tropical and subtropical plants includes 667 species from 213 genera.

The garden organizes educational exhibitions, conducts excursions and classes. He maintains contacts with various botanical institutions in 57 countries, which contributes to the creation of one of the largest collections of living plants in Belarus.

The nursery offers the population planting material with more than 100 new varieties of plants.

The park area of the Botanical Garden can be visited seven days a week from 8:00 to 20:00, in summer until 22:00.

You can also visit the greenhouse by appointment. You can even rent it for a photo shoot. Paid photo sessions are held throughout the Botanical Garden. It is also possible to rent the territory of the Botanical Garden for a wedding ceremony.
