Grodno. Tarlovsky's house.

In Grodno, on Sovetskaya pedestrian street, there is a stone two-story building called Tarlovsky House. The monument was erected in 1889, according to other sources - in 1890.

It was rebuilt at the beginning of the century in 1914.

It was also rebuilt during the Polish state in 1924 and 1933.

In the 19th century, the banking office of merchant Tarlovsky originally worked in the building, from which the historical name of the building originates. There was a fruit warehouse, bakery, shops, the Northern Insurance Company and there were several residential apartments.

After the Great Patriotic War, the building housed several different organizations: the Military Book bookstore, the Pupils and Teachers store, and the Garrison Department Store. Then there was a photo studio and a regional bookselling store.

Since 1968, the Belyuvelirtorg store has been open, where they sold goods for foreign currency. Now there is a cafe, an art gallery "Ice" and a cosmetics and perfumery store "Compliment".

The building has the status of an architectural monument and was built in the classical style with Baroque elements. The house is L-shaped in plan, covered with a gable roof. The floors in the building are marked by horizontal thrust. The flanking parts and the central part are distinguished by risalites. On the second floor there are three balconies with a cast-iron fence.
