Grodno. Sovetskaya Street. The House of Trade Unions.

In the city of Grodno, at the very beginning of Sovetskaya pedestrian street (building No. 4), there is a modern four-story building housing regional trade unions. The house was built in the post-war period in 1956. The architectural style is neoclassicism, or the Stalinist Empire style. Previously, there were two ancient buildings on this site, which were dismantled immediately after the war.

In the 17th century, during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the Sapieha magnate's palace was located on this site. During the time of the Russian Empire in the 19th century, there were stone houses of Lazer Bragman and his wife, Iakha Greenberg. Zheltok and Rautenstein shops and Mukhin's store were operating in the houses. There was also the house of Tavda Grinberg. At the beginning of the 20th century, Abram Gelbort, the chief rabbi of the Grodno community, lived here. The printing house of Y. Lyubimich, the publishing house of Zheltok, the jewelry workshop of M. Kuznitsky and the workshop of Heshes worked in the houses. The tire shop belonged to Kuchkovsky and his sons. The "House of Zacchem Banking Brothers" was operating.

The Grodno Regional Union of Trade Unions, Belagroprombank, and a computer repair and maintenance service operate in the modern monumental building.
