Description
In Grodno, on pedestrian Sovetskaya Street, there is an Alley of Cinema near the Grodno Youth Center. In 2016, an alley was created on which commemorative plaques with the names of the most famous films shot in the city were created in the form of films. The most famous is the film "White Roses", in whose honor a whole new residential area has even been created in Grodno.
Filming in Grodno began in 1956 with the film "Mikolka the Steam Locomotive". In recent years, the filming of "The Dnieper Frontier" about the defense of the city of Mogilev, and "In August of the 44th" took place.

If you walk along Sovetskaya pedestrian street in Grodno, you will definitely pass near the modern building of the Grodno Youth Center. You will immediately recognize this Soviet-era building, because it is built deep into the quarter among the ancient houses of the 18th and 19th centuries. And pay attention to the square in front of the center, where the Cinema Alley was created a few years ago. Commemorative plaques of the names of the most famous films that were shot in Grodno are laid out in the form of films.
Among the titles you will see films you know from the Soviet era, and those that have already been shot in the independent Republic of Belarus. First of all, everyone remembers the comedy film "White Roses", which was shot in Grodno with the participation of famous film actors Gennady Garbuk, Nikolai Karachentsev, Galina Polsky, Stefania Stanyuta, Galina Makarova and other famous film actors.
The filming of the films "Mikolka the Steam Locomotive", "Christ landed in Grodno" starring actor Lev Durov, "The Bronze Bird", "Yas and Yanina", "The Scattered Nest", "My name is Harlekino", and the films of recent years "Footprints of the Apostles" and "In August 44–go", "Dneprovsky frontier".
According to UNESCO's decision, Viktor Turov's film "Through the Cemetery" was included in the hundred best films about the war.
The first film was shot in Grodno in 1956 – the film "Mikolka – steam locomotive". In total, more than 50 films were shot in the regional city.
