Chernikhovo. Paraskeva Pyatnitsa Church.

A wooden Orthodox church of Paraskeva Pyatnitsa has been built in the village of Chernikhovo, Baranovichi district. The temple was built on a hill at the local cemetery between Chernikhovo and Verkhneye Chernikhovo. The place has been known since the 16th century, since the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. In those days, it was known as the town of Chernikhov in the Novogrudok voivodeship.

After the second partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1793, it became part of the Russian Empire and belonged to the Novogrudok district of the Minsk province.

The Orthodox Church of Paraskeva Pyatnitsa was built in January 1895. The new building was erected in the place where the old wooden church existed, which was probably built during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.

The old temple was demolished, as the wooden building had already decayed. The sponsor of the new temple was V. Pavlov, a full state councilor, a local landowner, and the leader of the Minsk provincial nobility.

The church is built according to the canons of Orthodox religious architecture and consists of four main parts: a vestibule, a refectory, a prayer hall and an apse. A multi-tiered four-tiered bell tower is built above the vestibule. There is a four–pitched roof above the main volume and an onion dome on an octagonal drum.
