Volno. Trinity Church.
In the ancient village of Volno, Baranovichi district, there is a stone Orthodox church in the Baroque style and the remains of the Slizen family estate: a park with a pond and a brewery with outbuildings.
There is a park and a church on a hill in the center of the village. They are very close and the temple was part of the palace and park ensemble.
The two-storey stone palace in the Neo-Gothic style has not survived to our time. And if you walk through the park, which is several hectares, you will come to the Trinity Church. This temple is one of the most beautiful temples in Belarus in the late Baroque style, or, some researchers note the style as Rococo.
During the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the owners of the village, Christopher Kamensky and his wife, Elena Drutskaya–Gorskaya, built a Uniate church, at which they opened a Basilan monastery with a school.
In 1768, the Uniates built the Holy Trinity stone Church. The famous painter, sculptor and architect Rafael Slizen studied at the monastery school.
In the 19th century, during the Russian Empire, the Basilian monastery was closed and the buildings were transferred to an Orthodox monastery.
The monument is a stone two-towered basilica with three naves. The main facade is decorated with stucco decoration. The towers are multi-tiered, with a shaped barrack-like pediment between them. The main facade is reinforced with buttresses.
