Verkhnee Chernikhovo. Chapel-tomb of the Rdultovskys.
In the Baranovichi district in the village Verkhnee Chernikhovo, there is a park and a chapel–tomb of the Rdultovskys. It's quite easy to find a place and get to it.: It will be located between the M–1 and R–2 highways in the direction from Baranovichi to Minsk.
During the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the 16th century, the place was known as Chernikhov in the Novogrudok voivodeship. After the second partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1793, it became part of the Russian Empire and belonged to the Novogrudok district of the Minsk province.
The Orthodox church of Paraskeva Pyatnitsa was built nearby in the village of Chernikhovo in 1895.
During the period of the Russian Empire, a palace and park complex was built here, which included a palace, a park and outbuildings. The palace was destroyed during the Great Patriotic War. The park, outbuildings and the chapel–tomb have been preserved to our time.
The chapel is made of stone, built in the Empire style. It is a rectangular building 8 by 10 meters in plan, which is located in the ground for half of its volume. The building is made of brick, plastered. The main facade of the chapel is decorated with four Doric order columns, and at the top there is a triangular pediment. In recent years, the chapel has been renovated and a cartouche has been installed on the pediment. The entrance leads first to the vestibule of the building, and then there is a descent down the steps. The crypt measures 5 by 5 meters, and there are niches of the tomb in the walls in 2 rows.
The tombs were looted and only one metal memorial plaque has been preserved, which reads: "Eugeniusz Rdultowski 1839-1911".
