The building is somewhat reminiscent of a majestic fairy-tale castle with many architectural decorations. Vitebsk. Pozyamelno-Syelyansky Bank.
The building of Pozyamelno-Syelyansky Bank was built in 1917 according to the project of architect K. Tarasov in the modern style with elements of the pseudo-Russian style. In some ways, the bank resembled a medieval fortress with a massive, wide tower. And at the same time, something fabulously unusual gives the appearance of this building small decorative elements: window moldings in the form of cornices, melon columns, large rust and others. The main entrance is decorated with a keel-shaped pediment, which is decorated with a majestic mosaic and majolica panel with the coat of arms of Vitebsk province. The building will impress you with its architecture and scale. But, unfortunately, it cannot be called unique. At that time, quite a lot of such buildings were created in the Russian Empire in a similar style. The building is now under control of the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine.
By the way, the veterinary academy has its own interesting museum, which is also worth visiting, especially if you haven't seen the skeletons of various small and huge animals, such as an elephant, for a long time.
