The park in Sarya is a valuable monument of history and culture, an example of noble park art of the 19th century.
This park was founded after 1807, at the manor house belonging to the influential noble Lopatinsky family. At that time, it was an exquisite combination of the English landscape style and elements of a regular layout, with terraces, ponds, alleys and decorative bridges harmoniously combined around the manor house. Unfortunately, the manor house itself has not survived to this day, but the park still preserves the spirit of that era.
The Saryanka River, dividing the park into two parts, creates a special charm, and a suspension bridge connects the banks, allowing you to enjoy the views. Despite the fact that only the front parterre and the embankment slides have survived from the architectural elements, the ancient alleys preserve the atmosphere of the past centuries. At one time, more than a hundred species of trees grew in the park, including exotic Weymouth pines. And now natural forest plantations form the basis of the park composition.
Among the preserved elements, special attention should be paid to:
· Sections of old alleys: walks along these alleys hark back to the days of noble estates.
· Rare tree species: here you can see Weymouth pine, larch and silver poplar.
· The restored frame with the Lopatinsky coat of arms: a symbol of the former greatness of the estate, welcoming visitors at the entrance.
From the depths of the park, a path leads to a decorative suspension bridge. This is a great place for photo shoots and enjoying the surrounding views. The view from the bridge is stunning: the surrounding nature is admirable.
Not far from the park is the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Lopatinsky family tomb, built in the 1850s. The church and the park together form a single historical and cultural ensemble.
The park in Sarya is not only a place for outdoor recreation, but also a valuable monument of history and culture. It is an example of 19th-century noble park art, and is also a habitat for rare tree species.
The park is open to the public and is included in guided tours of Verkhnedvinsk district and Vitebsk region.
Take a walk along the ancient alleys, admire the river and definitely visit the temple to fully experience the spirit of Sarya.
