Ryasno. Jewish cemetery.

Before the revolution, Jews made up the majority of the town of Ryasno. There was a large community and there were several synagogues. And on the outskirts of Ryasno from the Mogilev side along the ancient Mogilev-Mstislav route, a Jewish cemetery was established. Most of the burials belong to the 19th and early 20th centuries. The tombstones are signed in Hebrew. And only a few late post-war monuments are signed in Cyrillic. Tombstones - matzoves, near the old part of the cemetery stand in rows (rows), close to each other. They are made of ordinary stones. But one tombstone has also been preserved, and it is made of millstones of a hand mill, dark red in color. The cemetery is surrounded by a moat and has been well preserved to this day. When visiting the Jewish cemetery in Rasna, it is necessary to wear comfortable shoes!
