An architectural monument of national significance. The oldest functioning botanical garden in Belarus.

In 1837, the main building of the agricultural school was opened in Gory-Gorki. It was built of brick in the classical style according to the design of the architect Campioni of Italian origin. This building (building No. 4) has survived to this day. It is a rectangular three-story building with half-columns and a pediment, to which a central alley leads.

By the time the agricultural school began teaching in 1840, 35 different buildings had been built here: academic buildings, workshops, a greenhouse, and outbuildings. During the Great Patriotic War, many of the academy's buildings were destroyed. Unfortunately, today only the main academic building, two outbuildings (administrative buildings), and the cellar outbuilding (now a residential building) have survived. They have undergone minor redevelopment. The surviving academy library, founded in 1840, is the oldest agricultural library in the country.

On the basis of the agricultural school in 1848, the Gorki Agricultural Institute was opened, where farmers were trained. After the uprising of 1863-1864, the educational institution was transferred to St. Petersburg, under Soviet power the institute was restored in Gorki. On its basis in 1925, the Belarusian Agricultural Academy was opened, many of our compatriots became graduates of it.

Today, the Belarusian Agricultural Academy continues to operate a botanical garden, which opened in 1841 on the basis of a greenhouse in Gory - Gorki Agricultural School, as well as a unique arboretum founded in 1847. The botanical garden is the oldest operating botanical garden in Belarus. Its collections include: ornamental conifers; ornamental deciduous plants; flower plants; greenhouse plants; spicy and aromatic plants; rare and endangered plants listed in the Red Book.
