Slavgorod. The memorial sign "Anchor".

Landmark

Landmark

Belarus, Mogilev region, Slavgorod, Lunacharsky St.

Description

There are many interesting natural sites in Slavgorod district. One of the main ones, of course, is the Blue spring natural monument. If you are going to Blue spring, or to the historical center of the city to see Castle Hill and the 18th-century Church of the Nativity of the Virgin, then stop for a few minutes at the Anchor memorial sign, which is located just 500 meters from the main street. Here, at the confluence of the two rivers Pronya and Sozh, there was once a city marina. And now there is a city beach here. Near the anchor you will see a very beautiful panoramic platform.

Slavgorod. The memorial sign "anchor".

Belarus has a very beautiful nature and you will be advised to visit numerous sites. One of the most beautiful natural panoramic sites in our country is located in Slavgorod.

This is the place where the Pronya River flows into the Sozh River. There is a wide floodplain of the river for several kilometers, which looks especially unusual in spring during a flood, when the river overflows its banks and a wide endless sea forms…

If you drive through Slavgorod along the central Lenin Street, and reach the intersection near the district executive committee, then you need to turn left onto Lunacharsky Street. Drive straight for 500 meters and you will see a column on top of which there is an anchor. Park your car here and go behind the column to inspect the panorama. There are benches and a beach on the riverbank, and you have the opportunity not only to see an unusual landscape, but also to have a snack in the fresh air, and you can swim if you come here on a sunny hot day.

The anchor is not installed here by chance. Once there was a city pier here and before the revolution there were paddle steamers with the names "Chicago", "Orion" and "Voskhod".

It is in this place that it is worth remembering the literary work of the classic dedicated to this city... until 1945, the city of Slavgorod was called the city of Propoysk. And in honor of Propoysk, the famous Soviet writer Konstantin Simonov wrote a poem "The Tale of the city of Propoysk" in 1943.

"When we get tired of the war,

From thunder, from cannons, from troops,

With friends, we'll get the money.

And we will leave for the city of Propoysk.

It must be the name of this

It's not for nothing that the booze is given,

It must be both winter and summer

They drink wine freely there....."

Look at the unique landscape around you, find a poem by K. Simonov on the Internet, and you will have a good mood for the whole day. This is guaranteed :).
