Gorki. Regional Historical and Ethnographic Museum

The city of Gorki has an interesting and rich history. And there are two museums in this small town. One is the museum of the history of the Agricultural Academy, and the other is the Goretsky Regional Historical and Ethnographic Museum.

The decision to open the museum was made in 1984. A lot of work by local historians and local historians began and in 1988 the museum opened its doors.

The first director of the museum was Vladimir Livshits, a well-known local historian and writer in Gorki. At first, the museum was located in another building and the exposition was represented by six halls.

 In 2012, in connection with the Republican festival – Fair "Dozhinki – 2012" in Gorki, an ancient 19th–century building was restored for the Museum of local lore - the building of the former pharmacy of Kazimir Antonovich Pozdersky. Researchers believe that it was in the Slides at this optech that the famous cream "Kazimi – metamorphosis" was created. This cream was used for freckles and the owner of this pharmacy K. Pozdersky received a gold medal at the World's Fair in Paris in 1900. During the restoration of the building, pre-revolutionary prescriptions and signatures of the pharmacy were found. It's late.

The project of the new museum exposition was created by the staff of the Mogilev Regional Museum of Local Lore E. Romanov. The museum has an apothecary's room; archaeological and ethnographic exhibits are presented; a photo studio of the early 20th century. The period of the Great Patriotic War and the literary traditions of the Goretsky region are widely covered. The museum has exhibition halls and in one of the halls there is a permanent exhibition of the famous artist Fyodor Kiselyov.

The museum's collections number 15 thousand exhibits.
