Natural and Ecological Museum Polotsk

For a long time, the water tower, built back in 1953, was empty until the natural and ecological museum was opened in 2005. The museum itself looks very unusual from the outside, but inside a large spiral staircase, which symbolizes the tree of life, divides it into 4 levels or “worlds”. The first floor introduces us to the biological diversity and uniqueness of Belarusian nature and is called “Belarus is our home.” The second floor - "Given to Civilization" gives visitors an idea of modern environmental problems. The third - “Protected Territories” will give an excursion to nature reserves and natural monuments, show us exhibits listed in the Red Book. And on the fourth floor there is a cinema and lecture hall, and most importantly, an observation deck, which offers views of the city of Polotsk from above. The natural and ecological museum presents more than 1000 exhibits, so you can get acquainted with the fauna of Belarus in detail and learn about the problems of nature conservation in the context of urbanization.
